The Casino Group and the GoodPlanet Foundation are committed to a new and lasting partnership to promote a model of production and more environmentally friendly consumption.

On the occasion of World Environment Day, 5 June 2013, the Casino Group and the GoodPlanet Foundation organized an extensive awareness campaign on responsible consumption, called « To choose is to act » . The objective of this first campaign was to present customers with a reliable, simple, practical and educational to help them choose responsibly the most environmentally and Labour Men products.

This campaign is based on two messages: >> GoodPlanet inform you : the GoodPlanet Foundation communicates relevant information to customers to raise awareness; >> Casino gives you a choice : Casino moving towards products available on shelves and present actions concrete shopping for a more responsible trade.
A broad awareness device was set up in 2400 stores Casino :

>>   Highlighting products selected by Casino in catalogs of stores aired nine million copies

>>   Highlighting messages on thousands of PLV (posters, totems, stops ray promotional zone, etc.)

>>  Distribution  500 000 noncommercial buying guides

And this campaign will not end stores: Casino and the GoodPlanet Foundation have developed the site offering online all of the campaign themes, labels and preferred number for additional information.

In addition, 42,000 Group employees were also aware of the responsible trade through numerous internal communication tools (e-learning module, mailing, articles and video on the intranet, breakfasts information, challenge stores etc.).

Finally, a hundred suppliers were invited to share their experiences and best practices around Yann Arthus-Bertrand and Sylvie Lemmet, Director of the Division of Technology, Industry and Economics United Nations Environment Programme.

The results of this campaign, awarded in November 2013 by a Grand Prix Communication & Company , have been very encouraging. The campaign « Choose this Act » will be expanded and deployed again in 2014.
